Dwarka is a town and municipality in Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the state of Gujarat. It is situated on the west coast of the Okhamandal Peninsula on the right bank of the Gomti River facing the Arabian Sea at the mouth of the Gulf of Kutch. 1. Dwarkadhish Temple
This temple is the main temple of Dwarka. It is also the most important place of Dwarka. Which is also known as Jagat Mandir. According to stories, this temple is about 2500 years old. Built by Prajna, the grandson of Lord Krishna, the temple is made of soft limestone and has two gates called Swarga Dwar and Moksha Dwar. The temple is open from 7 am to 9.30 am and from 5 pm to 9 pm.
2. Bet Dwarka
To go to Bet Dwarka you have to take a boat from Okha Jetty. This journey is of 5 kilometers. Bet Dwarka has a 5000 year old temple of Lord Krishna which is believed to have been built by Sri Vallabhacharya. The idol located in his sanctum sanctorum was made by Rukmani.
3. Gomti Ghat
Gomti Ghat is built at the mouth of river Gomti. It is believed that bathing here purifies the soul. A temple of Lord Shiva is built on the banks of the river. You can also see temples of Lord Rama, Krishna and Sudama. Here tourists can enjoy the river by sitting in a boat. This place is very famous for buying local items.
4. Kailash Kund
Beyond Ranchhod temple, pilgrims reach Kailashkund. The water of this lake is pink in color. Adjacent to Kailashkund is the temple of Suryanarayan. Beyond this lies the eastern gate of the city of Dwarka. Outside this door are statues of Jaya and Vijaya. Jaya and Vijaya are the guards of God's palace in Vaikuntha. Here also he stands at the gate of Dwarka and takes care of it. From here the pilgrims again reach Nishpap Kund and after visiting the temples on this route reach the temple of Ranchodji. This is where the hard work ends. This is the true Dwarka. Twenty miles beyond this is a small island in the Gulf of Cutch. On it lies Bat-Dwarka. 5. Shankh Lake
One and a half mile walk from Ranchhod Temple reaches Shankh Lake. At this place, Lord Shri Krishna killed the demon named Shankha. There is a Shankha Narayan temple on its banks. Taking a bath in the conch pond after seeing Shankha Narayana is very meritorious. One has to go by sea from Bet-Dwarka and land at Birawal port. After two and a half to three miles to the south-east we come across a town called Somnath Pattal. There is a large inn and several temples. About three and a half miles from the town is the confluence of three rivers, Hiranya, Saraswati and Kapila. Lord Krishna's body was cremated near this confluence.
6. Shivrajpur Beach
This quiet beach is located near Shivrajpur village on the Arabian coast of Gujarat. It is one of the most famous beaches of Dwarka and an attraction of the city. The clear waters and white sandy beaches provide a wonderful sight to the eyes and also provide immense tranquility. 7. Nageshwar Mahadev
This Jyotirlinga is the 10th among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It is one of the two Jyotirlingas located in Gujarat. The first is Somnath Jyotirlinga and the second is Nageshwar, both located in Gujarat. This temple of Lord Shiva is located 25 km from Dwarka. This temple is on the way from Gomati Dwarka to Bet Dwarka. Here you can also see a huge statue of Lord Shiva. Which is 125 feet high.
8. Rukmani Temple
This famous temple in Dwarka is dedicated to Lord Krishna's wife Rukmani. This temple is located 2 km away from Dwarka Tirtha temple. According to the story, Rukmani was cursed by sage Durvasa to be separated from her husband. And for this reason this temple is located a little far from the Dwarka Tirtha temple.
9. Sudama Setu
Sudama Setu is a cable bridge over Gomti river. It is the first and only cable bridge designed for walking. This bridge of Dwarka connects Panchkui and Gomti Ghats. He looks exactly like Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula of Rishikesh. This bridge of Dwarka makes the travel of tourists safe and easy here.
10. Shri Bhadkeshwar Mahadev
This holy temple is surrounded by the blue waters of the sea. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The deity of this temple is known as Chandra Maulishwar. Whose idol was given to Adi Guru Shankaracharya. However tourists can visit here anytime. But here the day of Mahashivratri is considered to be of special importance.
