Imagine living in a space surrounded by the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a place you can call your sanctuary. Snehal Patel always envisioned Eco House as a home in the lap of nature. And for the past eight years, a Surat-based mechanical engineer has been living in such a house.
His house is completely closed and has no water supply. Instead, it is powered by renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, and its water needs are met by rainwater harvesting. Additionally, all gray water is used in toilets while black water is filtered and used to irrigate vegetable gardens in the compound.

This Surat house is built in an area of 3.5 hectares. This house i.e. Diamond City is located in the man-made forest of Surat. Which is not a forest but actually a home. Planted so much vegetation around the house that it looks like a jungle to anyone.

No Water, Electricity or Sewer Connection in the House. (Water, electricity or sewage are not connected in the house.) There are 70 types of trees in this house. In which many species of birds and butterflies have made their homes. When this place was taken for this house, it was completely empty, there were no trees, after taking all the trees planted there are native trees. This native tree provides food for birds and butterflies. So 45 species of birds and 30 species of butterflies are found in this house. Apart from this, seasonal exotic birds also come there.
A solar panel has been installed in the house and a wind generator has also been installed for the electricity used inside the house. Wind generator Wind generator has been installed because solar cannot generate enough electricity during monsoon. In Monsoon the wind blows very fast all day which is very good for wind generators. Home electric cars are also charged with solar power.
There is also no connection for water used indoors. The water that falls in the monsoon is stored and used throughout the year. There is a tank of 2 lakh liters in the house to store water. The 200 to 300 liters of water used in the washing machine throughout the year is kept aside and used in the toilet flush so that the water is used more and that water is not wasted.
For this, the piping in the house is done in such a way that the water from the washing machine goes to a lower tank from where it goes to the upper tank and from there to the toilet of the whole house. All this water is then recycled again.
This water is further refined by passing through the sand particles through the threetop method. There it is planted with water plants like water lily which cleans the water and fish live in the water which means there is enough oxygen in the water.
The design of the house is made in such a way that there is a difference of 4 to 5 degrees between the outside temperature and the indoor temperature. The reason for this is that there is greenery all around the house and the roof of the house is also covered with vines, so the house does not get direct sunlight. Besides this, the wall of the house is a hollow wall. A hollow wall means there is a space between two bricks in the wall, which means that air is filled there, which prevents the outside temperature from entering. No matter how sunny it is outside, it doesn't affect the inside.
