FAW introduced the Bestune Xiaoma at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year.
China's First Auto Works (FAW) plans to increase base on micro-EV segment. For this the company has launched Xiaoma small electric car under the Bestune brand. The pre-sales of this electric car will start from this month. FAW Bestune Xiaoma will directly compete with Wuling Hongguang Mini EV So. It is currently the best selling micro car in China. The FAW Bestune Xiaomi will be priced between 30,000 and 50,000 Yuan, which is roughly between Rs 3.47 lakh and Rs 5.78 lakh.

Bestune Xiaoma presented at Shanghai Auto Show
FAW introduced the Bestune Xiaoma at the Shanghai Auto Show earlier this year. Both its hardtop and convertible variants were introduced. Currently, only the hardtop variant will be sold. It is not certain whether the convertible variant will be brought up for sale in the future. The car also has touchscreen infotainment, which is a 7-inch unit. The dashboard gets an attractive dual-tone theme.
Dual-tone color in Bestune Xiaoma
The Xiaomi profile is like a box, with a dual-tone color scheme that looks like something out of an animation film. It has large square headlamps with rounded corners for a more attractive profile. Xiaomi uses aerodynamic wheels which can be useful in increasing the range. The tail lamps and bumper at the rear are of the same theme.

Bestune is based on Xiaoma FME platform. This includes EV and range extender dedicated chassis. Earlier, a ride-hailing EV called NAT was built on this platform. The FME stage comprises of two sub-stages, A1 and A2. The A1 sub-platform caters to subcompacts and compacts with a wheelbase of 2700-2850 mm. A2 is used for cars with 2700-3000 mm wheelbase. The range is over 800Km for the EV and over 1200Km for the Extender. Both platforms support 800 V architecture.
Dimension of Bestune Xiaoma
The Bestune Xiaoma has a single 20 kW electric motor powering the Dimension Micro-EV. It is placed on the rear shaft. The battery used is a Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LFP) unit, supplied by Goshen and REPT. More details about the powertrain have not been revealed yet. In terms of safety, a driver side airbag is available in the Bastion Xiaomi. It has 3 doors. The Bestune Xiaomi measures 3000mm in length, 1510mm in width and 1630mm in height. Its wheelbase is 1,953mm.
